supporter worked hard to freshen up the light sconces that flank the front door. Ever since then, Center for Financial Education has left the lights on. It’s symbolic. Light dispels darkness. Light dissuades fear. Light brings hope. Light gives guidance.
Recently, we heard from clients who haven’t been in for a while. Sam and Kendra* began their journey to
financial wholeness a few years ago. CFE was there to
help. Creditors were contacted, payment plans worked out, a budget going forward created. They used the financial tools they learned. Their budget was tight, but they were determined. CFE walked alongside them for a few months until they were confident with their plan and equipped to stick to it. They could see the light of financial wellness and were ready to march toward it on their own.
Then life happened. Recently, a family need came up. They were able to act on it, but it wiped their “cushion.” Sam texted. “Can we see you sometime soon?”
Thanks to you, the answer to that text was a resounding “YES!”
Sam and Kendra’s story isn’t finished. The initial plan created is beginning year 3 of 5. They are in the long haul of getting out of debt. Finding contentment. Learning to redefine their priorities in life.
CFE should be here to shed light on that journey whenever they need it, but that is up to you!
Center for Financial Education is here to be the non-condemning voice of hope. New folks like Sam and Kendra come in every month. They’re tired of being “ducks”--calm on the surface, but paddling like mad underwater to keep it all afloat. Tired of keeping up the facade of having it all together. Will you make sure CFE remains true to its calling?
CFE is a place where people come to be real about their finances.
Another client, Valerie, a single mom, has been coming to CFE regularly for over 3 years. She’s recently decided she’s ready to “go on her own.” We’re thrilled for her! She’s mucked through a lot of bad debt in the last three years. With encouragement and guidance available to her because of you, she’s turned her old “finance everything” method of managing her money into “save up for it!” Valerie has the tools and the new mindset she needs to stay financially strong!
Her last appointment is coming up.
Will you allow us to tell her “we’ll be here for you”?
Last month, our “Swing for the Green” golf outing brought in nearly $15,000--a record! Earlier in the year, we optimistically doubled the “goal” for this fundraiser from $10,000 to $20,000. Through you, God delivered!
This month, honestly, donations are down. It’s summer, you’re busy making memories! Writing checks isn’t a high priority.
There’s a solution for that! Contact CFE today to set up an automatic transfer each month! We promise to make your donation stretch as far as possible, and keep you in the know about what your dollars are doing!
For right now, though, would you consider giving a sustaining “keep the lights on” gift?
Your gift empowers clients like Sam, Kendra, Valerie and many others--people
seeking to leave appearances behind and begin managing money God’s way.
Keep the lights on for them, won't you?
