This week I have been thinking about a talk I need to give next weekend. In the church I grew up in after the offering was taken it was brought to the front of the church and we sang a chorus during that time. It did not really hit me as to how meaningful that chorus was until I was thinking about this talk. I think that often as a youngster you do things just because you are supposed to do them. But as I thought about those words I realized what a truth they expressed.
"We give thee but Thine own,What e're that gift may be.All that we have is Thine alone,A trust oh Lord from Thee.
That is really our message. Everything belongs to God. We are only the managers. When we think of our finances, our lives in that manner, it makes a difference in what we do. The challenge for each of us is, "Do we really believe that everything belongs to God?"
